MOCO MUSEUM OPENS THIRD LOCATION IN LONDON’S MARBLE ARCH

Moco Museum today opens its third and largest location in Marble Arch, opposite Hyde Park in London. Spanning three floors across 25,000 sq ft, the Museum presents a rich collection of modern and contemporary art by genre-defining artists from Andy Warhol to Yayoi Kusama, alongside a temporary exhibition programme and new retail store, Moco Store.

With locations in Amsterdam and Barcelona attracting over 1.5 million visitors annually, Moco’s London outpost becomes the museum’s flagship location and will explore art through the lens of impact, platforming artists whose work transcends disciplines and mediums to influence contemporary culture, traversing art, fashion, design, music and beyond.
Moco Museum presents a permanent collection that unites works by leading artists who have shaped modern and contemporary art, including Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Daniel Arsham, Jean-Michel Basquiat, JR, Jeff Koons, KAWS, Keith Haring, Takashi Murakami, Yayoi Kusama and many more. Standing alongside these are works by new and emerging talents from around the world, including Argentinian digital artists Pilar Zeta, Andres Reisinger, and Ezequiel Pini, and iconic London artists Jake Chapman, Hayden Kays and Tracey Emin.

We’re excited to bring the world of Moco to London, following many successful years at our museums in Amsterdam and Barcelona. London is a truly global city, which can be felt in the energy of its community of artists and creatives. London’s artistic scene sets it apart from anywhere else and we’re delighted Moco can be part of this movement. We hope visitors leave Moco Museum enriched by the artists and artworks they encounter here, no matter how much or little they know about art.
— Kim and Lionel Logchies, Founders of Moco Museum.

A lower ground exhibition space is dedicated to large-scale sculptural and immersive artworks, featuring Daniel Arsham’s illuminated Japanese Garden-inspired Lunar Gardens, alongside works by digital artist Andres Reisinger, Italian sculptor Lorenzo Quinn, and British sculptor Anthony James. Bringing Amsterdam to London, the basement gallery also includes works by Dutch artist and DJ Don Diablo and a special experiential room installation by Pulse Interactive. Highlights include Daniel Arsham’s Blue Calcite Eroded 1975 Porsche 911-S, which greets visitors upon arrival, and the ‘Moco Masters’ collection, showcasing works by iconic modern and contemporary artists. This collection features pieces by late twentieth-century legends such as Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, as well as Yayoi Kusama’s vibrant large-scale painting Fire, Damien Hirst’s Lost Memories in a Fragmented Paradise with 6,129 individual pills encased in a glass cabinet, sculptural pieces by Jeff Koons, and more.

On the first floor, the ‘Moco Contemporary’ collection champions the work of living artists, including Takashi Murakami’s Cherry Blossom Season and his sculptural collaboration with fashion designer Virgil Abloh, Our Outer Space. This floor also features works by French photographer and artist JR, including the poignant GIANTS and Kikito, capturing his major installation of a young boy peering over the US/Mexico border.

The Moco Store, accessible via a dedicated entrance, will offer a selection of unique products inspired by the artists featured in the museum collection. Designed in Moco’s signature pink, the store showcases bespoke furnishings by the furniture brand Tylko, including custom-designed shelves created in collaboration with Andres Reisinger. For Moco Museum London, Reebok Europe has provided official uniforms uniquely customized for the staff, continuing Moco’s collaboration with the sports brand through curated materials and adaptive designs.

On September 11, Moco will unveil its first temporary exhibition in London, Healing Frequency by Marina Abramović. This exhibition will feature 12 works from Abramović’s Transitory Objects for Human Use series, inviting visitors to participate in a state of unified healing. This will mark the inaugural temporary exhibition at Moco Museum’s major new flagship location in London’s Marble Arch.
