THE OPENING OF JACQUEMUS’
‘THE NEW YORK BOUTIQUE’

Parisian brand Jacquemus, whose life-size caricatures have been spotted floating across countries and screens, finally crossed the bridge, for their long-awaited US debut in New York City. After almost a year of concealed windows with only the Jacquemus emblem offering insight into what's inside, the Parisian mastermind began their NYC love affair with an all-day celebration, starting with coffee and ending with cocktails.
While the day began with a crowd cheering on designer and creative director Simon Porte Jacqemus as he cut the opening ribbon, the evening's intimate cocktail soiree treated guests to a truly special moment with Simon and the Jacquemus team. Against the backdrop of a crisp New York City fall air, the romantic sounds of a jazz trio filled the cobblestone streets of the Soho-situated boutique. As guests arrived at the celebration, a warm glow emitting from inside, welcomed attendees into the cozy and distinctively curated space. Reminiscent of the brand's Parisian and provencal influences, the boutique's white washed interior and oyster white exterior captured a coherent design, while the wall of windows presented a peek inside to admiring viewers as they passed by. Inside the store, the curving shapes and continuous lines of the white stone interior guided attendees through the space, elegantly displaying the brand's coveted pieces, along the way.
As the evening continued, waiters also dressed in a shade of white, made their rounds through the two-story space offering a series of libations and hors d'oeuvres. A close eye was kept on the polished trays, as guests reached for a perfectly balanced dirty martini, an ever so frothy espresso martini, or a glass of champagne paired with small Parisian bites to chase. Before the crowd filed away to the rest of their Friday night’s festivities, Porte Jacquemus took to the boutique's grand curved staircase to toast guests for this special moment, and thank the team that helped make the dream a reality. A roaring applause from the crowd signalled the undoubted excitement for the brands' physical presence in New York City and the continued cultivation of a uniquely devoted following.
