DGTL AND ABN AMRO EMPOWER FEMALE TALENT WITH DGTL ACADEMY AND NEW HORIZONS
DGTL and ABN AMRO proudly present the DGTL Academy and New Horizons: two initiatives aiming to support female creators in the electronic music and art world, providing knowledge, guidance and a powerful network. New Horizons will feature an immersive art installation and soundscapes from emerging artists.
New Horizons will be featured on April 19 and 20 at DGTL Festival. Get your tickets here.
The Dutch interest organisation WOMEN Inc. was commissioned by DGTL and ABN AMRO to investigate the experiences and barriers faced by female artists behind the scenes. The mentorship program offers emerging female artists the tools, knowledge, and connections needed to break through in the electronic music scene.
“We see that female creators in the electronic music and art world are systematically given fewer opportunities. With the DGTL Academy, we want to change that. This mentorship program is an important step toward breaking through structural inequalities and giving talent a push forward. We are proud to realize this together with ABN AMRO and hope to inspire others to do the same.” – Tessa Ponjée, Brand Manager DGTL.
Artist Roos Janssen presents an art installation symbolising the power of transformation, exploring the process of material that changes into just a suggestion, becoming more fragile and fragmented until it ultimately dissolvess. Inspired by the movement of water and the refraction of light, the work evokes a calm, meditative atmosphere.
The campaign video, directed by Aaron van Valen, offers a look into the creative journey of Roos Janssen and her inspiring mentorship journey with Heleen Blanken.
New Horizons presents a carefully curated music composed to engage in dialogue with the installation while creating a unique listening experience, featuring works by artists Alberta Balsam, Jeena, Gizem Öz, Liza Dries, and Luna Ludmila.
