ZIMMERMANN REVEALS READY TO WEAR 24 COLLECTION CAMPAIGN

Drawing inspiration from fashion illustrations dating from the 1920’s onwards, Nicky Zimmermann thought her latest collection as a tribute to the fashion’s industry angular stone. Imagining her looks based on drawings by Barry Otto, the Australian designer enhances the feminine figure like no other, and modernises classic silhouettes.

Fashion illustration as an art form in itself is something I’ve always been drawn to. I have a collection of fashion magazines from the 1920’s and they’re made up of so many beautiful hand-drawn illustrations. The mood of those drawings, the magazines themselves and the way fashion was depicted in the era became a key reference point for the season
— Nicky Zimmermann, Creative director

This collection, all in air and volume presents a modern yet feminine wardrobe where a sometimes dusty sometimes fading color palette compose the garments. Denim comes through on wide trousers and spacious blouses. Velvet draped top and soft knits bring warmth for the season, alongside ample outerwear for an eclectic mix of styles. Chocolate lace bodysuit paired with velvet trousers presents the perfect day to night look, and glittering gowns and caped dresses certainly belong to the night. The focus on movement and lightness comes out in the campaign itself, with an impression of blowing wind and an open setting all along.
