Y-3 PRESENTS ITS FALL/WINTER COLLECTION “A LOVE LETTER TO NEW YORK”

The romance between Y-3 and New York City started in the early 2010’s, when the label chose the thriving cultural metropolis to host five of its runway shows. Almost 10 years later, Y-3 is returning to the city that never sleeps to set its newest fashion campaign. Starring the icons A$AP Nast and Gabbriette, “A Love Letter to New York” was shot by legendary photographer Max Vadukul, taking the urban scenery as background, balancing uniformity, scale and movement.

I don’t really believe in fashion mistakes. You make a choice, own it, it’s yours
— A$AP Nast

Photographer Max Vadukul also shares a long history with New York, back in 1984, when he shot Yohji Yamamoto Fall/Winter collection. It’s all coming back full circle for him to reaffirm Y-3’s enduring legacy in the same streets carrier of such a past.

The campaign hinges on spontaneity and movement, mirroring the collection whose technical and sportswear Geist blends with refined and sophisticated silhouettes. Y-3 seeks further inspiration in the medial intersection between the organic and the synthetic, shifting to the concept of “Hyper-Natural” in echo to its Spring/Summer 2024 collection’s theme “Contra-Natural”

This duality is embodied by A$AP Nast and Gabbriette, who respectively pace across Harlem and the Financial District, bringing a dynamism inherent to New York’ spirit.
