‘Warfare’ is an intense and highly anticipated film. Can you tell us about your role and how you prepared for it?

I play Sgt Laerrus, one of the two marines that were placed on a seal team to overwatch mission to provide help with air support and communications. Before getting to London to shoot, all the boys were putting links of resources in the group chat, documentaries or YouTube clips. But the best preparation was the 3 week camp that Ray and Alex set up for us before shooting.

What was it like working alongside such a talented cast, including Joseph Quinn, Will Poulter, and Kit Connor?

It was one of the best experiences I've ever had on set. I learned something new from someone new everyday.

‘Warfare’ is based on the real-life experiences of Ray Mendoza. How was it stepping in the shoes of these military veterans for this role?

It was a real honor and responsibility. Most of my family is military. In a way, being a part of this felt like an opportunity to give back to them.

How does ‘Warfare’ compare to your previous work in terms of physical and emotional challenges?

Night and day. I've never done anything this physical in my life. You think jogging 3 miles is hard until you jog 3 miles with a 50lbs vest on. Just standing up in the gear for multiple hours was tiring. I don't know how military men and women do it.

Your last film ‘Tarot’ was a supernatural horror, while ‘Warfare’ is more grounded in reality. Do you have a preference between action films and horror?

They're so different it's really hard to compare. Each come with its own unique set of challenges, they're both fulfilling in their own way. I did enjoy how many new skills I got to learn on ‘Warfare’ though.

What has been the most rewarding role of your career so far?

It's not just because we're talking about it, but ‘Warfare’ has genuinely been the most rewarding project of my career. When I saw my name in the credits for the first time, I've never been so proud to be a part of something.

Growing up in England, did you always dream of working in Hollywood, or did that goal develop over time?

To be honest, acting is the only job I can remember ever wanting. I remember watching Ferris Bullers with my dad when I was maybe 6 or 7, and thinking "Wow, I want to do what that guy does." I'm not sure if I fully grasped the concept that Ferris Buller himself wasn't real at the time, I just knew I wanted to be that guy.

You started acting in theater productions like ‘Bugsy’. Do you ever see yourself returning to the stage?

It's not something I've had very much interest in until recently. I'm not sure when, but I'd love to make a return to the stage one day.

Who are some of your biggest influences in the industry?

I've been on a real Michael Fassbender kick recently. The diversity in roles, his dialect work. I want a career like that.

Beyond acting, do you have any aspirations to direct or produce your own projects one day?

I'd love to produce, and directing has always been a dream of mine. But I'm not ready. I need to spend more timing on set learning from the best, and maybe one day I'll feel confident enough to get behind the camera.

What are the fashion brands you would like to work with in the future?

It was so fun wearing Loewe for this shoot. I've always been an Armani fan. And I may be wearing Dolce & Gabbana for the upcoming premiere, which I couldn't be more excited about.
