What are some of the moments or experiences that have most shaped your outlook on life and creativity?

I feel like every time I felt my life was not going in the direction I want it to go in, that's when I get energized and creative. It's easy to get sucked into the daily routines of life and the fast pace we now live in. I try to somewhat avoid that by taking moments during the week and reflecting on where I stand. I love lists, handwritten and vision boards. And although some moments in my life have not been the easiest, I do believe they made me want to work harder to create the life I feel I am deserving of.

Fashion clearly plays a big role in your life and career. How has your personal style evolved over the years, and what role does fashion play in expressing who you are?

For me it started out very young. We didn't grow up with money, so I remember watching endless hours of fashion TV and pretending to choose one item of every look walking down the runway. When I was a kid, I used to put long socks over my hands and pretended they were fashion gloves. People tend to look down on fashion and say it's shallow, but for me, it has always been magical, and that has very little to do with how 'expensive' items are. Some of my most possessed items I have had for over 20 years, and they cost nothing when I got them. As for my style, I feel like it's evolving every day. I cringe when I look at photos from years ago (sometimes even from weeks ago), but I also love that throughout the years I have been very true to my own road of exploring the fashion world. I used to love shiny and very out-of-the-ordinary items. Now I tend to be more drawn to a quiet style. I love simplicity, I love materials and the right fabrics, and I will now and always be a shoe girl first.

How does your personal style influence your approach to hair care and styling?

Honestly, hair care almost comes before fashion, because when the hair is not right, the outfit can never be. I've had my journey with hair too. I went from long locks to a period of self-exploration and felt like I was boring, so I went platinum blonde, pink, peach, bronde. I tried as many colors as I could. Then I cut my hair into a bob, and now that it's long again, I have never felt more like myself. I adore taking care of my hair; when my hair is right, the rest of my appearance feels right too.

Why was partnering with Sebastian Professional for this editorial important to you, and how does it align with your vision?

I love that Sebastian Professional isn't afraid of experimenting. I love the looks we created today. I loved that for some shots, my hair got to be a little less 'perfect,' and I could just play with it, throw it in the air, and touch it. I love that they are bold. They want the hair to be nonchalant but well-taken care of and healthy, and that's the exact look I aim for myself.

Hair health can be challenging with constant styling and coloring. What do you prioritize in products to keep your hair looking its best?

Honestly, I try not to mess around with my hair too much anymore. The No. Breaker line is a game-changer for me. It helps moisturize the hair, keeps it healthy, and makes it shiny without being too at and too done. I try to wash it only once a week (shocker, I know), and I use tools only once a week as well. I also let it air dry 9/10 times, and I feel like that helps with healthy hair too.

Sebastian’s No.Breaker System is designed for strong, frizz-free hair. How important is this balance of strength and style in your busy life?

Ugh, we are still getting there. I am not someone who likes structure, so life with a baby has been all about embracing the power of routines and letting go of my old habits. I feel like balance will be a forever magical word I will try to strive for, and part of the beauty of life is not always finding the balance but learning along the way.

Tell us about the two looks featured in this shoot—a slick-back ponytail and a middle-part style. How do each of these looks express different sides of your personality?

The slick-back pony denitely stands for the woman I strive to be: organized, not messy, and ready to conquer whatever comes her way. I also love that a slick pony always puts more emphasis on your face and gives you a slight facelift. The middle part is how I actually am: a little more chaotic, a little messy but with attention to detail and an emphasis on taking care of the locks and making them healthy from within.

Who are some iconic figures that have inspired you with these hair looks? How do you see their influence in your style?

I love people like Martha Stewart, Frank Ocean, The Olsen Twins. Just the classic icons. They don't mess around with a good look, and I feel like they are timeless and always embrace their own gut instead of just following trends. They feel most authentic to me when it comes to looks (and careers).

What tips would you give to those aiming to recreate these high-fashion, editorial styles at home?

Just play and don't care about the opinion of others. For my own personal style, I've always had the motto that the more people hate it, the more I love it. Mass consumption and trends will have most people believe that everything that falls outside those lines is considered hideous, but the real fashion knowers and lovers will always recognize a real look. And above all: as long as you are having fun, who cares what they think? Nothing is real anyway. As for practical tips: play around with structure and menswear. Half of my closet was originally designed for men, and I think men's collections are always so much better.

As someone regularly in the spotlight, how do you prioritize hair health while keeping up with bold, impactful styles?

I always think I lucked out, because I'm not a model, but I do get to do these cool shoots sometimes without having to worry about my hair being messed with too much. A model has to do this 24/7 and go along with the wishes of a client, so they will be blonde one day and dark the next. I get to have fun, shoot once in a while, but at the end of the day, my hair can always rest in between shoots.

In a fast-paced world that often feels always “on,” how do you stay grounded and true to yourself, both online and offline?

I always say I have hit the jackpot in life when it comes to family and friends; they really help me stay grounded. I've had most of my friends since I was 10 years old, I am incredibly close to my family, and I believe nothing matters as much as they do. So they really help me put everything in perspective.
