You’ve made a name for yourself in one of the world’s most competitive real estate markets, in LA. What initially inspired you to get into real estate, and how did your academic background in economics help you in your career?
I grew up surrounded by real estate, with my father being an architect and property developer. His work sparked my love for different architectural styles. When I moved to LA in my early 20s, I was struck by the huge contrast in real estate styles here, which are equally beautiful, yet different. I knew then that I wanted to be a part of this field. On top of that, I was ready to buy my first home and wanted to save on commission, which gave me the extra motivation to dive in.
As a black woman in the luxury real estate space, you’re breaking barriers. What challenges have you faced in an industry that’s traditionally been dominated by others, and how have you navigated them?
I don’t view things as challenges, but I’m aware that black homeownership in the United States is significantly lower than other racial groups, nearly 30 percentage points behind white homeownership. I take my role very seriously, focusing on educating minorities about the home-buying process. Many have the resources but lack access to the necessary information to get started, and I’m committed to helping bridge that gap.
What is the most important skill or quality a luxury realtor should have to succeed, especially in a city like Los Angeles?
In any oversaturated industry, especially in a competitive market like Los Angeles, the most crucial skill is building trust with your clients. It’s about consistently underpromising and overdelivering, ensuring that your clients feel not just heard, but valued and supported at every step of the process.

Being part of Netflix's 'Selling Sunset' has given you a platform to showcase your career and personal life. How has being on the show affected your career in real estate, and your personal life?
Being on ‘Selling Sunset’ has had a profoundly positive impact on both my career and personal life. Professionally, it’s opened doors and allowed me to elevate my real estate career to new heights. Personally, it’s made me more selective about where I invest my time and energy, ensuring I surround myself with the right people and experiences.
How does your role on 'Selling Sunset' differ from your day-to-day work as a realtor? Does being on TV influence the way you approach clients and sales?
Honestly, it’s pretty much the same, just with a bit more glam and standout outfits. The core of what I do, helping clients buy and sell luxury homes, remains unchanged. Being on TV does add an extra layer of visibility, which can influence the way clients approach me, but at the end of the day, my commitment to providing exceptional service stays the same.
You’re not only a successful realtor, but also a mother to two young children. How do you juggle the demands of your career with family life?
No sleep. It may sound like a joke, but I’m running on just three hours of sleep as I’m talking to you. That said, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I absolutely love wearing all the different hats in my life, with motherhood being my favorite of them all.

In addition to being a realtor, you’ve become a role model to many women, especially in the black community. What advice do you have for young women aspiring to break into industries where they may be underrepresented?
Wake up every day and take just one step toward your goal, no matter how small. Show up consistently, and over time, you'll be amazed at how far you’ve come. Years from now, you'll be living the dreams you once prayed for, and that journey will have started with your daily dedication.
You’ve already achieved so much in real estate. What’s next for you in your career, both within real estate and outside of it? Are there other ventures or goals you’re excited to pursue?
At this point in my life, my goals have shifted toward personal growth rather than professional achievements. I’m focusing on taking better care of my mind, body, and soul so I can be strong, both physically and mentally, for my kids and myself. Ultimately, peace is the goal.
You’re currently very much into cooking, which you share with your followers on social media. Tell us more about some of your favorite dishes, and what are your biggest cooking inspirations?
I love African food. Growing up in a Nigerian household, I was exposed to diverse flavors early on, which really expanded my palate. It sparked a passion for exploring cuisines from all over the world, and now I love incorporating those influences into my cooking.
What role does food play in your day-to-day life?
Food has always been an integral part of my life. Growing up, I was inspired by Nigella Lawson. She’s the ultimate woman in my eyes. Her approach to cooking and enjoying food has deeply influenced how I view food as a source of joy and connection.
