You’ve recently rebranded from Pluma to Evan. What inspired this transformation, and how does Evan differ from your previous artistic identity?
After years of experimenting with different types of music and exploring a variety of sounds, I eventually started to hone in on a specific style and taste that truly resonated with me. It was a journey of self-discovery, trying out new genres and blending influences until I found something that felt right. I explored different influences until I found the right fit. EVAN perfectly matched my direction. It’s been my name since I was five, making it a natural choice. It’s not just a name, but a part of my identity.

How do you see this new era shaping your future sound?
I’m not sure what my sound or future will lead to, but I’m excited for a new era. It’s a journey. I’m taking it day by day and loving the process. I’m blending different sounds and influences to try to find what is mine and I can’t wait to share this new side of me with the world.

Reinvention can be both exciting and challenging. What has been the biggest learning curve in this new chapter of your career?
My biggest challenge was learning to authentically express myself through music. It wasn’t just about melodies or lyrics, but translating my emotions into sound in a genuine way. Finding the balance between vulnerability and strength in my vocals took time, a lot of trial and error, and experimentation.

Your music blends Alternative Pop, Electro Pop, and Rock, with a nostalgic touch from the 2000s and 2010s. Which artists or bands have had the most significant influence on your sound?
Pop music was a huge part of my life growing up. I was drawn to artists like Justin Bieber and One Direction for their ability to connect with fans, while Skrillex pushed my perspective on sound. Bands like Coldplay, Maroon 5, Green Day, and Oasis inspired me with their storytelling and melodies. That era of music, with its mix of anthemic choruses and introspective lyrics, deeply influenced my approach to songwriting and continues to inspire me today.

Your production and songwriting credits are impressive. How does your experience as a co-writer and co-producer influence your approach to creating your own music?
Producing and songwriting for different artists has been a rewarding and eye-opening journey. It introduced me to new genres, expanded my creativity, and pushed me to experiment in ways I hadn’t before. Watching other artists’ processes has also helped refine my own approach, giving me fresh perspectives on music and storytelling.

What can fans expect from your upcoming music? Are there any collaborations or surprises in store?
You can expect a sound inspired by the artists I admire, and I’m working on building relationships with them. I can’t share too much yet, but I believe a little mystery makes the anticipation even more exciting. Just know that more music is coming soon, and it’ll be worth the wait.

You recently released your newest single ‘Star Below’ feat. pH-1, which captures the rush of falling for someone in the audience during a performance. Can you share the inspiration behind the song and what you hope listeners take away from it?
I had a very vivid dream of being a huge pop star, performing under bright spotlights with a crazy crowd and in the audience, I noticed a girl with a magnetic presence. She almost felt like the real star, stealing the spotlight from me. The emotion of that moment stuck with me passing my dream, so I grabbed my guitar and started writing. It felt like a sign to turn that energy into a song.

Do you have any dream collaborations—either producers or artists—that you hope to work with in the future?
I’d love to work with The Kid Laroi. His voice is incredibly unique and the ability to blend raw emotion with catchy melodies is great. His music is authentic and deeply resonates with me. It would absolutely be a dream come true to collaborate on something together.

What’s been your most memorable live performance experience so far?
I haven’t played many shows yet, but I’m excited for what’s ahead. I’ve been working behind the scenes on my music and branding, patiently preparing for the right opportunities. When the time comes, I can’t wait to connect with fans and bring my music to life on stage.

Can you give us a sneak peek into what’s coming after ‘Star Below’? What is coming up next for you?
I have a lot of songs and videos ready, and I’m beyond excited to share them. I’ve poured my heart into this project, making sure they really speak about who I am as an artist. Each song holds very special parts about me, and I hope they resonate with you. I just can’t wait for everyone to enjoy the music as much as I did while creating it.
