Lindsay, how did race driving become your passion?

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always loved going fast. I grew up in Colorado, so my family would always take me snowmobiling, jet skiing, and four wheeling. I always loved driving, so when I went to a birthday party at a go kart track when I was eleven, I became hooked instantly. The thrill and adrenaline of competing and going fast sparked my passion right away, and I knew this was something I wanted to do forever. I won my first karting race and the regional championship in Colorado my first season of karting, so I knew I had the talent to make this into a career. I’ve loved it ever since.

You’ve most recently competed in the Indy NXT race. What does racing in the Indy series mean to you personally, and for you as a racing driver?

Competing in the Indy NXT championship has been a dream come true. It’s not just about the prestige of the series, it’s about being part of a community that pushes the limits of racing and innovation. For me, it’s an opportunity to showcase my skills on a global stage and continue to grow and develop as a driver. Each race is a chance to prove myself and advance in my career, and I’m incredibly proud to be a part of this journey.

How do you see your development as a racing driver throughout the years?

My development as a racing driver has been a journey of continuous growth and learning. Early on, I focused on building a solid foundation of skills and understanding the nuances of racing. With each season, I’ve gained invaluable experience, refined my technique, and learned from both victories and setbacks. I had to take a few years off due to lack of funding and to attend university, and although I’m grateful for my education, it set me back a bit in my racing career. Even though I don’t have as much experience as some of my competitors, I've become more resilient under pressure and better at adapting to different racing conditions. This ongoing process of improvement is what drives me, and I’m excited to keep pushing the boundaries of my abilities and evolving as a driver.

What is your favourite memory and your favourite race of your career so far?

One of my favourite memories was my debut race in Indy NXT. It was a pivotal moment in my career, full of both excitement and nerves. The race itself was a whirlwind of emotions, but crossing that finish line was unforgettable. As for my favorite race, I’d have to say my legends car championship winning race in 2016. It was a culmination of hard work and dedication, and it reinforced my belief that perseverance truly pays off.

What do you see as the biggest challenges female racing drivers face in the motorsport, and also in sport in general?

Female racing drivers face several challenges, including overcoming stereotypes and breaking through a male-dominated sport. There’s often a perception that women are not as capable in racing, which is simply not true. We also face obstacles in gaining equal opportunities and recognition. However, these challenges also drive me to push harder and advocate for change. It's about proving ourselves and creating more opportunities for the next generation of female drivers.

How do you speak up to drive awareness and celebration towards women in motorsports?

I use my platforms to highlight the achievements of women in motorsports and to inspire others. Whether it’s through social media, interviews or public appearances, I aim to showcase the talent and dedication of female drivers. I also collaborate with organisations that support women in sports and share their stories to foster a supportive community. By being visible and vocal, I hope to encourage more women to pursue their passions in racing.

How do you see the role of female drivers transforming in the coming years across all motorsports?

I believe we’re on the cusp of a significant shift. Female drivers are gaining more visibility and respect, and I see a future where gender is no longer a barrier to success in motorsports. With more women breaking into top-tier series and influencing the sport, the role of female drivers will continue to evolve, leading to greater representation and more opportunities for women across all levels of racing.

What are your goals for the future of your racing career?

My goals are to continue progressing in my career, aiming for higher levels of competition and achieving notable successes. I want to be a strong contender in the IndyCar series and eventually compete at the highest levels of motorsports. Beyond that, I hope to inspire young drivers and contribute to the growth of the sport. My ultimate aim is to make a lasting impact and leave a legacy that others can build upon.

Besides racing, you are also a model. What do you enjoy the most about fashion, and how important is fashion in your life?

Fashion is a wonderful way for me to express myself and showcase my personal style. I enjoy experimenting with different looks and staying on top of trends. It’s important to me because it allows me to merge my passion for racing with another creative outlet. Fashion and racing complement each other in my life, helping me feel confident both on and off the track.

What can you share with us about your upcoming plans and projects, both in racing and outside of it?

I’m excited about the upcoming racing season and the new challenges it will bring. I’m also working on several projects outside of racing, including collaborations with brands and initiatives to support women in sports. I’m focused on building my career while also using my platform to make a positive impact. Stay tuned for more updates as I continue to pursue my passions and explore new opportunities.
