IN CONVERSATION WITH SOFIA TILBURY & BELLA BROEKMAN TILBURY

interview by NIA TOPALOVA

Charlotte Tilbury Beauty was once again the official beauty partner of ROTATE during Copenhagen Fashion Week AW25. Sofia Tilbury, Global Artistry Director, created a fresh, Scandinavian glam look with a modern twist. The models walked the runway with radiant, fresh skin, created with Charlotte Tilbury's iconic products, worn by Brand Muse Bella Tilbury among others.

(Sofia) Charlotte Tilbury partnered with ROTATE at Copenhagen Fashion Week and we couldn’t be more excited! Can you share with us how the collaboration with the brand started in the first place?

The partnership between Charlotte Tilbury and ROTATE really came about through a mutual love for each other’s brands. Thora and Jeanette have previously had Tilbury Transformations done by our amazing Pro Artistry team at fashion weeks in the past, plus Bella and myself were already huge fans of ROTATE with several of their pieces in our wardrobes. So, becoming their official beauty partner just made so much sense!

(Bella) How would you describe the experience of walking for ROTATE’s show and being part of Copenhagen Fashion Week? Would you say it’s more exciting, overwhelming – or a mix of both?

This was my first time walking the runway for ROTATE at Copenhagen Fashion Week. It was so much fun and the atmosphere was incredible! I’m also obsessed with the makeup look that Sofia designed for the show and recreated on me!

(Sofia) Can you share more about the products you decided to use for the show and the direction Charlotte Tilbury took this season?

With the makeup look, I wanted to depict the collection’s modern take on Scandi glamour. To offset the opulence and elegance, we created a pretty, pared back look that was all about fresh, barely-there skin, eyes and lips.

To prep the skin, we used hydrating products like Charlotte’s Magic Serum Crystal Elixir, Charlotte’s Magic Water Cream and Charlotte’s Magic Hydrator Mist. Complexion products were used sparingly, with her iconic Hollywood Flawless Filter being a key product used to blur, smooth, soft-focus and illuminate the look of skin. We also applied Charlotte’s incredible Hollywood Contour Wands on some models to softly sculpt and define their facial framework.

On the brows, we brushed Charlotte’s Brow Fix through them to create a feathered finish. For the eyes, we chose to use little or no mascara but added a subtle wash of taupe on the eyelids using Charlotte’s NEW! eye palette coming in February 2025. They’re not just for the runway – from easy, wearable matte day looks to dialling up eyes for night, it’s a palette that everyone can experiment and have fun with.

Finally, to give the look of just-bitten lips, we blotted on some of Charlotte’s Hollywood Beauty Icon Lipsticks in a range of shades to give them a hint of rosiness, finishing with Charlotte’s Magic Lip Oil Crystal Elixir.

(Bella) What are your thoughts about ROTATE’s Fall/Winter collection?

I’m obsessed with this collection! This season’s ROTATE woman instantly captures everyone’s attention when she walks into the room, so I was so excited when I got to walk the runway modelling some of these pieces. Wearing them made me feel so confident and empowered, similar to how Charlotte Tilbury can make you feel and look like the most beautiful, confident version of yourself through the transformative power of makeup!

(Sofia) You collaborated with ROTATE for their Spring/Summer 2025 collection as well. How is this season different in terms of your work for the brand?

ROTATE’s Spring Summer 2025 collection was all about sensuality, sensitivity and the thrill of a summer romance. To complement the delicate fabrics, soft colour palette and floral motifs, we created a makeup look focused on fresh, dewy complexion, with a neutral, understated eye and soft pop of colour on the lips.

I would say that this season’s makeup look was more pared back than the last. Last season, we added a rosy pop of colour and radiant glow on the cheeks using Charlotte’s Beautiful Skin Island Glow Lip & Cheek and viral Beauty Light Wand in Spotlight, but this time around, we used complexion products a lot more sparingly, mainly focusing on creating a lit-from-within glow all over using Charlotte’s Hollywood Flawless Filter.
