ALL ABOUT THE SENSES AT THE PALOMA WOOL SS25 RUNWAY
Last Saturday, Paloma Wool unveiled its Spring/Summer’25 collection at Paris Fashion Week. Supported by an immersive audiovisual experience, the collection continues the brand’s effortless blend of style and sophistication. Classic Paloma Wool designs are graced with new playful multi-position pieces and vibrant colours return alongside snap buttons to adorn and alter the garments in a fun manner. A strong emphasis is put on experimental textures and fabric combinations; the result is a lively collection that celebrates the natural wrinkles and creases of fabrics.
The show is styled by Emilie Kareh and led by artist and performer Carlota Guerrero. At the start of the show, Guerrero places five models at the centre of an elevated podium who each play with the different clothes from the collection - generating subtle sound pieces captured only by dangling microphones. The soundscape is then live-mixed and reproduced throughout the space. The experience is incredibly immersive and audiences are further drawn into the Paloma Wool webcam world with models interacting with the camera’s. Those close-up frames are then captured and displayed on wide screens. As if an ASMR, Guerrero develops a sensory environment that elevates the runway from being purely visual to audiovisual.
The collection itself is delicate: it uses wrinkled and sheer fabrics combined with light layering to showcase the intricacies of both model and garment. In collaboration with jeweler Anna Santangelo, a chic line of accessories accompany the looks, each piece handcrafted at her atelier. Silhouettes were kept relatively minimal as well, focusing on elegance and simplicity over anything maximalist instead. In this way, audiences could concentrate on the experimental design and mixture of different yet natural textures and accessories.
While the show comes to its finale, musician Ana Roxanne makes an appearance on the centre podium and sings her heart out while the models walk their last strides.
