EXTREME CASHMERE OPENS FLAGSHIP STORE IN AMSTERDAM
Extreme Cashmere unveils its first flagship store at Utrechtsestraat 143 in Amsterdam. Designed in collaboration with architect Hidde Dijkstra, the space offers an experience that feels like stepping into a cosy apartment more than a storefront.
The layout unfolds across three distinct zones: a lounge with a bar and curated photography, a soft seating area for exploring garments, and a spacious walk-in fitting room. Central to the space is a multifunctional display structure, adapted from previous pop-up stores - equal parts kitchen island, drying rack, and meeting point.
Referencing 20th-century interiors, the design juxtaposes cool industrial finishes with plush textures, mirroring the brand’s knitwear ethos. The flagship acts as both a showroom and an ongoing installation. A dedicated wall features rotating exhibitions and visual collaborations, creating a space that evolves alongside the brand.
For Dijkstra, who has followed the brand closely as a family member of founder Saskia Dijkstra, this project marks his first solo retail concept. The result is a space built from shared language, shaped by memory, and defined by a commitment to simplicity and tactility.
Extreme Cashmere’s flagship officially opens 17 April 2025.
