NO ART MAINLINE PRESENTS THEIR NEWEST COLLECTION VOL.3 ‘ANTI-POLARISATION’ AT THE SYNERGY ART FESTIVAL AMSTERDAM
No Art Mainline presented their newest collection named ‘Collection Vol.3 Anti-Polarisation” at the Synergy Art Festival in Amsterdam. 13 outfits strutted down the runway with a clear and powerful message: fighting the rise of dualism we are witnessing nowadays. Broaden your mind and change will follow is the leading mantra that designer Poyan Rahimzadeh hoped to convey during the show. Models of different body types, backgrounds, ages and gender presented the collection emphasizing the desire for unity and recognition we are needing so much in those times. Refined and precise streetwear looks are presented all show long in a beautiful scenery.
More than a runway presentation, No Art Mainline put on a real show full of meaning and symbols to bring their anti-polarisation concept to life. The rich diversity of our planet has been translated into vibrant colours and a wide array of textures. From jersey to ripstop, each item has been thought to be stylish and practical. The functional items sport powerful lines and a positive look, thanks to intricate appliqués and embroideries. The collection’ striking narrative told the story of the Earth, seemingly united from afar but the closer you get the more distended she looks. To illustrate that thought, American designers Rey Jaffet and Sean Behm created the Spirits, entities that call for union and to end the divisons. The Spirits adorn the garments and can be seen in the setting of the accompanying fashion show. The décor of the runway was magnified by metre-high sculptures by Rey Jaffet and Sean Behm referencing the collection’s approach. The highlight of the collection is definitely the denim jacket, with a boxy fit and wash effect, recalling the nineties’ clean minimalist aesthetic.
