OMHU signifies an experience familiar to every being – a friendship. This particular one was born in Denmark and has spanned for over 30 years. Referring to its origin, the name “Omhu” is an ancient Danish term that represents the essence of acting conscientiously and with care - characteristics that this brand prides its ethos on.
Creators, Jonas and Frederik, shared a profound passion for unique interior design and furniture, kickstarting their dream of trading curated vintage pieces. A couple of recent years back, they placed all their trust into their love for interiors and took the next great leap; leaving their 9 to 5 behind. What began with countless flea market escapades soon flourished into ‘Kram & Klenodier’, their instagram-based vintage shop founded in 2018.
Moving forward to the Spring of 2022, the renowned concept of the TEDDY sofa was conceived. The TEDDY sofa draws upon inspiration from their diverse experiences within the vintage furniture trade industry during their ‘Kram & Klenodier’ era. By crafting a symbol from the unique vision and wholeheartedness that OMHU represents as a brand; the TEDDY sofa was labelled as the centrepiece in their journey. It was during this creative process that the brand OMHU found footing, not just to encompass TEDDY but to lay the grounding for future designs. Today, OMHU remains strong to its vision in crafting unique, high-quality furniture pieces that are influenced by its vintage roots.

Presenting a new solution that is both pleasant and comfortable, this eliminated the usual compromises of a bed or a sofa - perfect both to sleep and lounge around on. The design of TEDDY is paramount in representing the brands’ future interior direction. Corduroy fabric and minimalist layout create a great synergy between design and functionality that brings forward their staple vintage foundation.
