TRIPOLISM: THE NEW SOUND SHAPING ELECTRONIC MUSIC
words NOVA COMPIER
editor ELIANA CASA
From Copenhagen to Coachella, Tripolism is the newest trio entering the music industry with their unique blend of house, disco and techno. Fred, Bryn and Ras are a Danish production group that have been making music for around six years, now preparing to perform at the biggest music festival taking place annually in the California desert.
Their YouTube Documentary series takes us along with the journey towards this grand performance, whilst also sharing an intimate look into where they started and how they’ve been able to establish their name. According to Bryn, introducing vocals into their sessions played an unexpected role in creating their new signature way of making music. He mentions that it was groundbreaking and essential to finding their “sound”, jokingly naming themselves the “boys choir”. Another important factor to Tripolisms‘ music is their mantra: “Our music also very much reflects how we are when we‘re together”, especially in the studio, where the room is filled with positive energy. This very energy is what got them recognised by Annie Birkeland, head of UK‘s Ultra Records: “Tripolism brings something new to the table, they are kind of part of the frontier of this new wave from Scandi and Danish music”.
After signing with powerhouse Ultra Records in 2023, the group made waves with their debut summer album Absolute Dope in June 2024. As 2025 kicks off, Fred teases a “pretty packed release schedule”—already marked by the drop of Nuraan earlier this year. While the plan was to stick to the schedule, the group took a spontaneous turn, unveiling a previously unreleased remix. The online feedback was overwhelmingly positive – a testament to their instinct for authenticity and the undeniable power of following creative intuition.
From their first single Dope Dance in July 2023, to playing Coachella in April 2025, Tripolism is that group you want to keep an eye on.
Listen to their latest single with fellow DJ and Producer Nandu. 'Sunrise' is a follow up to their previous collab, 'Nuuran' and is released via Ultra.
