VIVIENE WESTWOOD PRESENTS NEW MINI YASMINE CHAIN ACCESSORIES
For the Autumn-Winter 2024/25 accessories collection, Vivienne Westwood presents the ‘Mini Yasmine Chain,’ an evolution of the archival ‘Yasmine’ handbag. First presented at the Gold Label Autumn-Winter 1987/88 ‘Time Machine’ runway show, the handbag was named after the French designer Yasmine Eslami who worked for Vivienne Westwood in the late ‘80s. Originally designed to hold her absolute essentials; cigarettes, a lighter and lipstick – the new ‘Mini Yasmine Chain’ is a faithful development of the iconic house style.
Available in eight colourways, the playful silhouette is finished with a sporty contouring trim – inspired by the archival ‘Hammer Head trainer’ from the Vivienne Westwood Autumn-Winter 1981/82 ‘Pirate’ collection.
Variations include two seasonal tartans, one crafted in a soft Lochcarron of Scotland tartan mohair another in a vibrant pink, purple and chartreuse printed tartan. Two snake-print silhouettes in lime green and caramel pay homage to the original snake-print ‘Hammer Head trainer.’ Each style in the ‘Mini Yasmine Chain’ collection is complete with a chunky chain crossbody strap and a complementary or contrasting orb motif.
