KALLAX RE-EMERGES ON REVERIES WITH NEW EP

Italian DJ and producer Kallax returns on Reveries with an EP that embodies a distinct and evocative aesthetic. The Copenhagen-based artist invites audiences to a softly muted, four-track voyage through a multifaceted dub universe.

With opening track “Portal 001,” Kallax doesn’t shy away from more complex rhythms. Inspired by UK’s greatest Massive Attack, the trip hop scene, and Aphex’s atypical production patterns he brings us an ever evolving drum machine that slowly subsides to colder pads, gently caressing the ears of the listener. The intent is clear: bring the listener to another dimension through the use of sound as a portal.

On the other hand, tracks like "Dub City October" represent some of his most daring genre bending aspects. Uniting Detroit inspired pads and Dub rhytms along with breaks, drums and vocals of a more modern approach, the track has the energy to light up any stage.

In "Starry Night”, inspired by the early french touch electronic scene, he mixes compression techniques from the 80s with the modern sound of slower techno, achieving an absolute dancefloor stomper. And the ultimate track “All the time” navigates waves from dreamy electronica and ambient soundscapes, taking audiences through an ethereal world once more.

The EP will officially release on October 18th, so be sure to give it a listen.
