SEXYRECS RELEASE DEBUT EP ‘THE FIRST MOVE’
SEXYRECS, a Berlin-based label, is championing a new wave of driving, pulsating techno. Its debut release, The First Move, is a 4-track EP that sets the tone for what's to come.
The dynamic new label was founded by Dutch vinyl DJ Laure Croft, whose vision sees each release shadowed by a mystic, dark sex appeal. Committed to creating visibility for diverse talent in the industry, the label blends a playful spirit with a purposeful approach.
As a vinyl artist, Croft's initial inspiration for SEXYRECS was simple: a desire for more hot techno music on vinyl. Her mantra, "keep it sexy," has been a guiding force in both her personal life and career as a DJ, making the creation of SEXYRECS a natural evolution. "The inspiration comes from countless hours spent in clubs, hearing sounds I wish were available on vinyl," she shares.
While vinyl remains at the heart of SEXYRECS, the label also embraces digital formats to ensure that no one misses out on its sexy tracks.

The First Move
SR001 is a 4-track EP and the genesis of SEXYRECS. The VA release is a solid embodiment of what the label stands for: a gradual descent from hypnotic, vocal cuts to rougher, poignant rhythms. Each track pleads for a lustful surrender.
The A-side opens with a deepened, looping finish. 'Rubber Hands' amps up the heat as blends of ominous, distorted percussive elements crawl into the sonic landscape. P.E.A.R.L. provides a
suffocating, sweaty track with a nod to tribal. With the second track, Bailey Ibbs creates texture through layers of cryptic vocals and crunchy mid tones with a neatly produced groove track. 'Lied To Laure' offers a fresh perspective to hypnotic techno, combining a light approach with a darker aura.
Flipping to the B-side, powerful shapeshifitng, patterns of intense harmonies, spiral, twist rise and fall. Loren Kuehne's paradoxically named 'Less' is the antithesis of its name as it enthralls you, leaving you begging for more. Continuing with a kaleidoscope of rhythm, 'The Beatbox' slides in, framed with piercing bass-kicks and propelled with a dirty, forceful undercurrent of sound. FRAZI.ER masterfully orchestrates a melodically deep and razor-sharp peak-time track.
