DIOR OPENS NEW CAFÉ AT BANGKOK'S DIOR GOLD HOUSE

Marking the occasion of the inauguration of Dior Gold House in Bangkok, The House is pleased to announce the opening of a new Café Dior by Mauro Colagreco in the heart of this outstanding concept store.

Bordered by extraordinary gardens exemplifying the magnificent diversity of Thai vegetation, this singular setting offers visitors a haven of peace and enchantment, expressing the House’s passion for the art of living and entertaining. At the convergence of savoir-faire and culture, this spellbinding place reveals an exclusive scenography by Korakot Aromdee, whose work fuses contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship. For the Café Dior by Mauro Colagreco, he has devised a monumental, infinitely delicate installation, featuring enchanting flora and fauna entirely in bamboo. The trees, flowers and birds that populate this dreamlike print seem to come to life, as if in three dimensions, thanks to the virtuosity of the ancestral techniques of the local communities the artist called upon. This poetic oasis is enhanced by furniture by Saran Yen Panya, Creative Director of 56th Studio.

An invitation to a fabulous voyage of the senses deliciously continued by Mauro Colagreco, who has elaborated an original menu for the Dior Gold House Café Dior by Mauro Colagreco, reflecting the House’s unparalleled heritage. Embodying the philosophy and vision of the three-starred chef – who shares Christian Dior’s fervent love of gardens and botany – this gourmet composition is inspired by nature, its rhythms, cycles and prodigious plurality, to marvellously unite haute couture with “haute gastronomie”.

From the rose to the bee, to the iconic bucolic estate of La Colle Noire, Christian Dior’s Provencal paradise, the symbols of the House’s identity are transformed into sumptuous desserts and pastries, exalting associations of flavors as complex as they are harmonious. Among these are a sweet treat marrying the round notes of pandan – a tropical plant native to Asia – with the zesty aromas of combava and lime; an iced cone combining rose milk with fresh lychee and raspberry; and a range of pastries with pistachio, vanilla or passion fruit. As a final surprise, Mauro Colagreco has also concocted a series of cocktails capturing the essence of flowers, from neroli to jasmine and lavender.

An exquisite, ingenious odyssey in the name of excellence.

I felt immense pleasure working on this unique project and discovering this deep connection with Christian Dior’s vision. A connection woven by a love of nature and gardens as places of infinite inspiration and renewal. It’s a way of fusing the world of creation with the beauty of the earth, cultivating a form of gratitude towards the plant world.
— Mauro Colagreco
I’m delighted to have contributed to the birth of Café Dior in Bangkok within the Dior Gold House concept store, and to have been able to build plural dialogues between the worlds of haute-couture and haute gastronomie. Two professions more alive than ever, and fundamentally linked to manual creation, allowing artisanship to shine through their understanding of processes and time. A deep-rooted awareness of the importance of perpetuating all these skills, inseparable from a sense of excellence.
