LADY GAGA’S DAZZLING PERFORMANCE AT THE PARIS OLYMPICS OPENING CEREMONY

Lady Gaga inaugurated the Opening Ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games with a flamboyant performance at the tip of the majestic Ile Saint Louis. Honoring the cabaret legacy dear to the city of Lights, with an interpretation of the song Mon Truc en Plumes conceived by choreographer Roland Petit and sang by Zizi Jeanmaire in 1961. It’s all going full circle when we know that Christian Dior designed ballet costumes for Monsieur Petit and that Gaga herself wore Dior by Maria Grazia Chiuri during her prestation. At Dior, we like to keep in the family!

The world of arts and haute couture has never been more intertwined then now, responding to each other beautifully in a symphony of feathers and dazzles. The fabulous creation worn by the icon during her Parisian performance featured a black satin bustier paired with panties crafted by the house of Cadolle. A short jacket and a grandiose feathered skirt topped the whole in a delightful black and pink palette reminiscent of the cabaret golden age in the French capital. An intricate headpiece acted as the cherry on top, alluring the American star like no other. In traditional burlesque fashion, Gaga removed her garments throughout the song, and ended with a “Cul de Paris”, the emblematic accessory typical of music-hall. The dancers and musicians surrounded her also sported full Dior looks inspired by Audrey Hepburn in the movie Sabrina, and pompoms made by the iconic Lido de Paris.
