Chiara, you've mentioned that your passion for music began at a young age. Who were your teenage icons or early musical influences that sparked this passion?

I grew up listening to all kinds of music with my dad. He was a musician, among other things, and we had this routine where after school and his work, we’d sometimes sit down in the living room and play the new record he had gotten for me at the store. These CDs ranged from ‘Joni Mitchell’s Blue’ to ‘Outkast’. I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. Music has always been part of my identity, and my clearest memories are always accompanied by a specific song.

Can you share how your musical journey began before your first LP ‘Wilder’? What moments or experiences made you realize that music was your calling?

Music has always moved me deeply. There was never any doubt that being a musician was my calling. I spent my days with my Discman and later my iPod, watching live performances of my favorite artists, which gave me goosebumps and sometimes brought tears to my eyes. I still get emotional watching artists perform live. It’s magical. I would pray to God to help me become a successful artist. Be careful what you wish for, I guess... I started piano lessons young and took up singing lessons at 11, but I had been singing long before that. Then I discovered the guitar, which I loved because I could take it anywhere. It was also easier to write music on than the piano.

‘Wilder’ was your debut and opened many doors for you. What was the most memorable experience from creating and performing it that shaped your career?

As :me passes, I realize how bold it was to make a folk/blues album a;er being a Disney Channel star. I was 21, having just ended a three-year run as a Disney Channel star, and felt the need to share my music and experiences. My father’s passing heavily influenced the album, and it still makes me emotional. I’m proud that I didn’t hide anything. I think, subconsciously, I felt the world needed something honest from me. Looking back, I’m so proud that I followed my heart and made a folk/blues album when people might have expected me to go for bubblegum pop. I was also fortunate to work with some of Argentina’s best musicians, which was an absolute honor.

After moving to Mexico, you found new inspiration for your upcoming album ‘Sola Conmigo’. How did this new environment impact your songwriting and creative process?

Many aspects of my life changed in late 2021 when I moved to Mexico City after filming an Amazon show. The city blew my mind, and I felt an uncontrollable urge to start a new chapter there. Sola Conmigo means "alone with myself," reflecting my journey of leaving behind my teenage identity and embracing adulthood. Mexico brought new experiences and a more colorful outlook, which influenced both the sound and themes of the album. It’s more “pop” than *Wilder*, and I think that’s a reflection of the new experiences I’ve had.

You are both an actress and a singer. How do those two worlds coexist in your life?

I get this ques:on a lot, or the classic “which do you prefer?” I always say the same thing— I’m an artist who practices many forms of art. Acting and music access different parts of my creativity. Music is my oxygen, but ac:ng is such a physical experience, and working with other creatives is inspiring. Acting can also be cathartic—it’s crazy, but I love exploring the complexity of life through different characters. As an actress, I get to experience many lives, and that’s something I adore.

You’ve been releasing singles like “Sola Conmigo,” “Abejas a la Miel,” and “Luz del Mar.” Could you tell us the stories behind these songs and the themes that Ae the album together?

“Sola Conmigo” and “Luz del Mar” have a feeling of op:mism. After going through challenging times, these songs aim for liberation and joy. “Abejas a la Miel” is a romantic ballad, which was a new territory for me. It’s fun to express love and the feeling of falling deeper into it.

What were some of the biggest obstacles you encountered while creating ‘Sola Conmigo’, and how did you overcome them?

This album came at a tumultuous time in my life—moving countries, ending relationships, starting new ones. The process was long and sometimes challenging, but it was worth it. The album’s identity became stronger because of these experiences. The biggest obstacle was probably me—wanting the album to sound exactly as I envisioned it and leang the process take the time it needed. In the end, there were no real obstacles, just lessons.

After ‘Sola Conmigo’, what’s next for you in terms of your music career? Are there any other artistic or personal projects you’re excited about?

I’m already thinking about my next album. I want to connect more with my intuition and get experimental, using programs rather than relying solely on guitar and piano. We’ll see! On the acting side, I’m excited about new projects, too. I find it essential to be moved by the character and story, and I hope more meaningful opportunities arise.

How does fashion influence your identity as a musician, and how do you see the intersection of music and fashion in your life?

Fashion is a tool for expressing what I feel inside. As an artist, the visual image you construct can help shape the persona you want to be. I love fashion, but I don’t let it define me. I have a specific style and like feeling pretty and unique, but I’m pretty simple in my everyday life. When I’m performing, it’s different—everything is thought through, and sometimes even has a backstory. I have to be able to justify my look on stage.
