A CASCADE OF FLOWERS FOR THE ZOMER SS25 COLLECTION
Literal Dutch translation of the word “summer”, zomer is a place of expression for allowed Aitouganov and stylist Asha. Embodying the ideal of a Dutch summer spent in Keukeunhof, with a kaleidoscopic colour palette, 3D flowers bursting out of the garments and unexpected textures. Playful spontaneity meet elevated sophistication and bring to life experimental silhouettes right out of trippy version of the Wizard of Oz. Florals are at the forefront of this collection, and a pretty rustic atmosphere hovers above the runway.
Drawing on the creative duo’s deep admiration for artistic innovation, the zomer SS25 collection presents a joyful wardrobe not afraid of color associations. Outstanding craftsmanship brings to life standout pieces like a super floral dress made in collaboration with DEBEAULIEU. Maximalism is at its peak, and the blooming mechanical flower sculpture by ISABEL + HELEN attest of it. To counterbalance this effusion of petals, a blazer with a large belt made of weaved hemp and paired with a floral printed skirt bring a more reasonable allure to the runway. Irresistible textured hat shook the Internet and were the perfect addition to the looks, adding a touch of childish innocence.
For the footwear, zomer called the label KARHU to collaborate on a series of models that merged KARHU’s storied craftsmanship with zomer’s avant-garde approach to design. The concept of the collection is bold, it is truly a symphony of innovations and risks taken that leave a lasting impression on anyone interacting with it. The standout piece is definitely a gigantic flower bouquet dress creating a voluminous, soft armor around the model’s body. Skirts adorned with 3D pleated details are the quintessentially Dutch items of the collection. The last look took us a bit by surprise, but is a hard proof of Aitouganov and Asha’s creative genius: a monochrome black ensemble composed of a fluid top and geometrical shorts, its symbolic is open to interpretations. Is it the announcement of a new chapter for the brand, an anticipated death predicting the arrival of a new dawn?
