AUDEMARS PIGUET INTRODUCES “BLEU NUIT, NUAGE 50” CERAMIC
Audemars Piguet adds a new chapter to the Royal Oak story with the release of three models crafted in a new ceramic shade: Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50. First developed in 1972 for the original Royal Oak dial, the deep blue tone is now applied to ceramic for the first time, after several years of development.
The colour draws directly from the night sky above the Vallée de Joux — the birthplace of Audemars Piguet — and reflects both the region’s legacy and the brand’s continued investment in materials innovation. The challenge was technical as much as aesthetic: maintaining colour consistency across all ceramic components required precise control over production.
The collection includes three models:
A 41mm Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked, fully crafted in blue ceramic, with a rhodium-toned openworked movement visible through the sapphire crystal. Pink gold hands and hour-markers provide contrast, while the patented double balance wheel ensures improved stability and precision.
A 42mm Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph, featuring a new ceramic bracelet and a fully monochromatic construction. The Méga Tapisserie dial, inner bezel, and chronograph counters match the ceramic case, while stainless steel screws and a titanium caseback add subtle contrast. Powered by the Calibre 4404 with column wheel and flyback function.
A 43mm Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph in two-tone ceramic and stainless steel. The bezel, crown, and push-pieces are rendered in Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50 ceramic, while the steel case and lighter blue counters create a layered visual effect. The model is fitted with a matching calfskin strap and includes an additional blue rubber strap.
Together, these models extend a signature colour into a new material, connecting 1972 to 2025 through design, engineering, and the night skies of Le Brassus.
