BOTTEGA VENETA UNVEILS NEW “GOING PLACES” CAMPAIGN STARRING JACOB ELORDI
Bottega Veneta has launched a new campaign starring Brand Ambassador Jacob Elordi. Supported by photographer Alec Soth, the campaign draws on the brand’s code of movement to celebrate “Going Places.” Fittingly, the pictures capture Elordi dramatically moving through the natural architecture of the Utah and Nevada desert.
Established in 1966, the house has cemented itself in the industry with its soft and malleable leather goods. As opposed to the more formal and structured bags of its time, Bottega Veneta’s designs have always been more supple and flexible, easily adapted to the motion of the wearer.
Creative director Matthieu Blazy states that “Bottega Veneta is in essence pragmatic because it is a leather goods company… it is about movement, going somewhere; there is fundamentally an idea of craft in motion.” And here, Elordi embodies that same dynamic with the new travel accessories of the house. This heritage additionally draws on the house’s roots in Venice, a city known for its cross-cultural trade, artistic techniques, ideas, and flowing movement of both merchants and goods.
As such, the “Going Places” campaign celebrates both Venice and movement, travel and exploration, and launches in conjunction with the new Bottega Veneta travel products. Key pieces include a new Andiamo bag in canvas and leather, a weekender travel bag, and a snake-inspired belt buckle. In one of the photos, Elordi is seen leaping across the many cracks and crevices of the rocky desert carrying the weekend bag. In another, he strikes a pose beside the Andiamo — a bag named after the Italian expression for “Let’s Go!,” fitting with both the house and the campaign.
