BURBERRY UNVEILS ITS NEW HIGH SUMMER CAPSULE COLLECTION
words by NATALIE GAL
Burberry makes a splash this summer with a series of special events and hotel takeovers at surprise locations – and releases a special film celebrating the brand’s new High Summer capsule collection.
‘We wanted to capture the joy of the British at play,’ says Chief Creative Officer Daniel Lee of Burberry High Summer 2025. ‘A kind of kick-start to the summer. Burberry is a brand for all the seasons, don’t forget.’
Huntington-Whiteley and British tennis player Jack Draper, alongside models Alva Claire and Babacar N’Doye, plus a few unmissable extras. Captured on 35mm film, the camera pans from sun loungers to yacht deck, ice lollies to lilos – even a random scuba diver*.
It’s what Lee calls a ‘Burberry celluloid postcard – an arc of British idiosyncrasies and humour, with factor 50 on.’ Inspired, he says, by various ‘incredible yachting and holiday images,’ he found in the archive. The film perfectly captures the beloved charm of the coast—sun loungers, seagulls, and a yacht named Check Mate all bathed in the golden glow of a late afternoon sun.
The cast wears the Burberry High Summer collection: a mix of check swimwear and shirt dresses. Nautical motifs—knots transformed into logos and charming sailboats—adorn silk dresses, shirts, and shorts, effortlessly styled with slides or espadrilles. Accessories follow the same elevated elegance, with summer bags crafted from crochet knits or intricately woven jacquard, seamlessly completing the look in true Burberry style.
To chime with the launch of the new collection, the brand will host Burberry High Summer takeovers at two exciting locations, The Newt in Somerset, England and The Standard, Ibiza in Spain.
*Burberry can neither confirm nor deny rumours that the ‘random scuba diver’ is, in fact, the Burberry Knight.
