DIESEL UNVEILS ITS PRE-FALL 2025 COLLECTION AND ITS ALL ABOUT FLUID DENIM

We all know that denim defines Diesel. And for its pre-fall 2025 collection, those denim pieces remain just as central. Here, however, they are subverted in a new twist: fluid denim. Jersey T-shirts and bra tops are treated to look like denim, with a hem of straps to wrap around. Jersey polos, as well as nylon track jackets and gym shorts, are also treated to seem just like denim too.

“This is a collection about everything in denim, from tailoring to footwear, or pieces treated to seem like denim. The archetypes of denim should be more than just five-pocket jeans: we wanted to push the boundaries and possibilities of our hero fabric. It’s a complete wardrobe with fabric innovations which proves that Diesel is denim, and that denim is Diesel.” says Glenn Martens, creative director of the brand.

The new fluid denim that is woven through the collection has a lightweight feel with an unexpected drape. It’s used used for roomy-cut tailored jackets and pants, overdyed in natural colours for a worn effect. The material exudes a certain playfulness that can be seen in the different garments, like an oversized shirt that looks as if slashed at the front waist. It’s also cut into new key pieces, like a lightweight long denim skirt, worn with a leather jacket printed as a trompe l’oeil of a cargo jacket, and a utility vest that combines both denim knit and real denim pockets.

In footwear, denim booties have a faux lining, while there are also denim loafers and sock-boots. Kitten heel sandals have distressed trim straps, and there are also kitten heel boots with a metal D over the toe. The new S-D-GRIFFE LOW sneaker sees the sole infiltrating the upper like a lava flow, while the S-SLANTE-D LOW sneaker has an exploded D on the side that’s so big, it’s almost abstract.

Supporting the looks, the campaign features the various outfits set against a washing machine-like backdrop: emphasising the fluidity of denim this season.
