REFLECTING ON OUR PAST YEAR AND RAISING A GLASS WITH TECÁN TEQUILA

As the year is slowly coming to a close, it’s the perfect moment to pause for a little bit and reflect on our journey so far. From our 11th issue ‘Odyssey’ launch party to our recent pop-up event, community is and will always remain at the heart of everything we do. These events are a chance for us to directly connect with the vibrant people that help make each occasion memorable. And at such gatherings, it’s always beautiful to share the experience with our partners. In the past year, Tecán Tequila has kept us energised and roused up — so here’s a toast to them.

The Dutch brand is specialised in, you guessed it, premium tequila. It’s name comes from the fusion of tequila and bacán, a Latin-American term to describe a pleasant and alluring person with flair and confidence. A bacán is a person who enjoys life, and we know all too many of them at Numéro Netherlands. The main goals of Tecán Tequila have been to inspire the next generation to love the drink and to scatter off negative stereotypes associated with it. Starting from 20 bars to expanding to over 350 bars across the country, I’d say they are doing a pretty good job so far.

What really aligns with us at Numéro Netherlands is Tecán’s ability to bring joy around. At first glance, it might seem as if they are just another drink’s brand, but really, it’s so much more than that. Positive and enjoyable energy is engraved in the brand’s core identity. It’s about the way you look and move, the way you feel, and the excitement that pulses through your veins. Tecán is all about igniting a fiery passion within you that brings out your inner bacán, and in doing so, bringing together a group of spirited people. It embodies everything we hold dear — connection, creativity, and a touch of risk and laughter. And that’s why Tecán is part of our rhythm.

Previously seen at our latest launch party, as well as our 10th issue launch party back in May, Tecán has been steadily providing us with refreshing, revitalising beverages. The Paloma has been an absolute favourite, at both the parties. Made from 40ml Tecán Blanco, Double Dutch Pink Grapefruit Soda, and 10ml fresh lime juice, the cocktail has been a complete crowd pleaser. Switching the Grapefruit Soda for a Ginger Beer instead will mix an equally delicate Mexican Mule, perfect for loosening your body. And if you’re feeling more in need of hydration, using the Double Dutch Soda Water in the curation will do the trick.
With Tecán, every sip channels your lively energy in a bold, confident, and passionate manner. As they continue to expand their own community, we will continue to do so as well. As part of our rhythm, we can’t wait to see where they are headed to next, and more importantly; we can’t wait to share a few drinks again at our upcoming celebrations together.
