Have you ever experienced the thrill of a brand’s history, a global icon, and an iconic shoe—all in one place? We did, and we’re still catching our breath.

Puma flew us to Milan for a whirlwind 36 hours to unveil the latest Speedcat collection, starring none other than Dua Lipa. The collaboration brings together the global superstar’s fearless energy and Puma’s rich heritage, and we had the privilege to explore it all—right down to trying on the pieces ourselves.

Diving into Puma’s archives, we got up close with the original Speedcat, created in 1999. A sleek, low-cut, non-fireproof adaptation of the high-cut Race Cat, it was designed for performance and became a symbol of racing culture. For over 25 years, the Speedcat has embodied speed, precision, and boldness, cementing its place in both sports and streetwear.

Reintroduced in summer 2024, the Speedcat quickly regained its iconic status, earning celebrity endorsements and a sell-out reputation. Its racing-inspired silhouette has evolved through exclusive collaborations and limited-edition releases, continually redefined by each new generation of trendsetters and pace-setters.

Now, with Dua Lipa, the Speedcat enters a new era. Reflecting freedom, unpredictability, and bold exploration, the collection rewrites the legacy of this beloved silhouette as a powerful symbol of self-expression. Dua Lipa’s collaboration perfectly encapsulates this spirit, making the Speedcat as relevant today as it was in its racing origins.
