Last weekend, on the fifth day of Milan Fashion Week, Fiorucci unveiled their FW25 collection, Beatitudo. Rooted in the Latin word for ‘blessedness,’ the collection radiated joy, playfulness, and a true sense of freedom. A testament to individuality, Beatitudo is the essence of Fiorucci’s spirit.
The show stated that true peace comes from the intersection of youth and maturity; exemplified in the two grandmothers at the heart of the runway. Not to forget that the finale delivered an iconic moment, with Amanda Lear, cocktail in hand - embodying true Beatitudo carefreeness.
This show also happens to be design director Francesca Murri’s second runway collection, following from her debut show for Fiorucci in September. Backstage after the show, we spoke with Francesca about the collection’s vision and inspiration. When asked to define Fiorucci today, she distilled her answer into three words: “Ironic, colourful, democratic.” A sentiment that adds a deeper layer to the childlike energy of the collection, encapsulating the brand's playful yet inclusive ethos.
Murri’s creative approach is meticulous yet intuitive, building the collection “piece by piece,” with each look forming part of a larger narrative. “Every look tells a different story,” she explained. Her personal favorite? The opening look, The Surfer. “I like the idea of being on the beach, grabbing a coat, and heading to the supermarket for groceries.” A simple yet evocative scene.
If Francesca could ask the brand’s legendary founder, Elio Fiorucci, one thing today, it would be this: “Are you happy with the show? Did you like it? I hope he does.” A nod to the legacy that continues to shape Fiorucci’s bold and boundary-pushing aesthetic.
