GUCCI UNVEILS SABATO DE SARNO’S SECOND EVENING WEAR COLLECTION AT THE 13TH ANNUAL LACMA GALA
Last Saturday, November second, the entertainment industry’s finest gathered together at the 13th annual Los Angeles County Museum of Art Gala to honour and celebrate artist Simone Leigh and filmmaker Baz Luhrmann. During the event, co-hosts Eva Chow and Leonardo DiCaprio were joined by Gucci Deputy CEO Stefano Cantino and creative director Sabato de Sarno. The latter additionally presented Gucci Notte, his second evening wear collection for the House.
Building upon last year’s debut of Gucci Ancora Notte, this year’s collection redefines evening wear with a harmonious blend of effortless elegance and modern sophistication, paying tribute to the architecture of the garment. It weaves a continuous narrative exploring the dialogue between women’s and men’s wardrobes, a central theme in De Sarno’s creative vision. Featuring twelve looks for women and four for men, the collection presents a vision of timeless beauty with men’s suits enriched with intricate details and women’s gowns incorporating tailored cuts.
The heart of the collection remains artisanship, showcased in gowns that feature meticulous detailing and sophisticated construction. The silhouettes strikes a perfect balance between structured and lightweight, gracefully draping around the body like elegant capes. Accessories and jewellery additionally carry the bamboo motif showcased at Gucci’s Spring/Summer 2025 runway, and here the refined materials continue to intertwine tradition with innovation.
Various celebrities, from the EGOT-esteemed Viola Davis to acclaimed musicians Solange Knowles and Omar Apollo wore the House. Pearl-star Mia Goth was also seen walking the red carpet in a beautiful draping gown, and Charli XCX continued her brat year with a special live-performance following a dinner prepared by Chef David Shim of Simon Kim’s COTE New York, America’s first and only Michelin-starred Korean steakhouse.
