JONATHAN ANDERSON’S MASTER MOVE FOR THE LOEWE SS25 COLLECTION
More than fashion presentation, Loewe’s collection always explore a concept, an idea where creativity is materialized through clothing. Jonathan Anderson’s question the role of fashion by putting his finger on a notion too often ignored: radical reduction. What becomes of fashion when we strip away what is not essential, and what can become of the sartorial if nothing remains? That is where the silhouette comes into play, the only component that forever stays and is the basis to every creation.
We always recognize at the first glance when an outfit is Loewe. Something about the cuts, the precision of the details, the softness of the leather or the inherent touch of humor that makes the Loewe pieces truly unique. The construction of the garments equals the most precise engineering, with dresses that float around the body held by a thin metallic structure. Feathered T shirt sporting famous painting by our Vincent Van Gogh national reflect on the intertwinement between fashion and art, while sequins on knits make the perfect spring sweater.
Fluidity of the movements led the way for this collection, offering dresses and skirts that seem stuck in a perpetual whirlwind. The iconic Loewe nappa leather was seen composing baggy pants and small capes, making our favourite look of the season. The looks were completed with irresistible boat shoes and elongated oxfords, bringing the boarding school preppy style in fashion. And how to forget the Ballet Runners, perfectly paired with floral dresses. The supple trapezoid-shaped Madrid bag makes it grand runway debut, while the Puzzle is declined with light feathers and squishy leather.
