LANA DEL REY RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘BLUEBIRD’

words by NATALIE GAL

Era-defining musician Lana Del Rey releases her latest single via Polydor Records.

"I think so many female artists would not be where they are and would not have the inspiration they have if it weren't for the work that she's done. I think she's a legacy artist, a legend, and in her prime right now," said Taylor Swift at the 2024 Grammy Awards. After winning Album of the Year for Midnights, Swift brought Del Rey on stage. And honestly, we couldn’t agree more.

Just think of a few of Lana’s lyrics from the past few years, for example:

“There's a new revolution, a loud evolution that I saw

Born of confusion and quiet collusion of which mostly I've known

A modern-day woman with a weak constitution, 'cause I've got

Monsters still under my bed that I could never fight off”

- from “hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have - but I have it”

From small-town beauty queens with big-city heartbreak to seaside sadness and foggy piers, Lana Del Rey’s aesthetic is rooted in a kind of haunting Americana. It blends Retro Hollywood glamour with soft Coastal Gothic and dreamy surrealism. Her art touches something sacred, a kind of mystical nostalgia for moments we’ve never actually lived, yet somehow remember, or desperately wish to have known.

Last week, Lana Del Rey released Henry, Come On, her first single of the year. It is now followed by Bluebird, out Friday, April 18th.

Not only is she giving us new music, but she’s also heading out on a sold-out UK & Ireland summer tour, gracing the stages of London, Dublin, Liverpool, Glasgow, and Cardiff. She’ll also make a U.S. appearance at Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California, on Friday, April 25th.

What can I say, what a year to be a Lana fan.
