MAGDA BUTRYM DEBUTS "GOSSAMER" COLLECTION AT PARIS FASHION WEEK
Magda Butrym introduced her Spring-Summer 2025 "Gossamer" collection, marking the brand’s debut at Paris Fashion Week. Held at 64 Boulevard de Courcelles, the show centred around themes of airy lightness, feminine exuberance, and Slavic heritage.
The setting featured a custom-made portal reminiscent of pre-war Warsaw architecture, draped in antique lace and crowned with the brand's signature rose emblem. This ethereal gateway invited guests into a dreamworld that embodied "gossamer," or "womanly summer" in Polish tradition.
Movement director Pat Boguslawski choreographed the models as modern goddesses, their movements reflecting Slavic folk dance traditions. Polish artists Szymon Lubinski and Filomena Smola enhanced the dreamlike atmosphere with glass art installations that resonated with the collection's themes of fleeting beauty and transformation.
The collection balanced ethereal evening wear and pragmatic outerwear. Nearly sheer gowns in off-white and crimson cascaded in silky jersey, while headscarves were reimagined as sculptural pieces. Utilitarian outerwear, including oversized trench coats and belted cargo pants, contrasted the light, delicate dresses. Handcrafted crochet pieces underscored the brand’s Slavic heritage.
Sumptuous rose installations, representing transformation and feminine strength, adorned the venue, complemented by crystal vases and vintage floral arrangements. The collection also featured signature bags, including the Apolonia clutch and Brigitte handbag, alongside floral-adorned footwear.
Guests enjoyed rose-themed Polish croissants and champagne, adding a sensory layer to the immersive experience. Magda Butrym’s "Gossamer" collection celebrates femininity with a daring and ethereal touch, rooted in cultural heritage and modern design.
