MIU MIU UNVEILS ITS UPCYCLED 2024 COLLECTION STARRING EMMA CORRIN
Miu Miu presents its latest Upcycled 2024, which is part of the Holiday collection, introducing its first fully realised wardrobe. Already in its fifth edition, Miu Miu Upcycled has become a key pillar of the brand, both in product and aesthetic, seamlessly aligning with the brand’s long-term dedication to sustainability and circularity. For its campaign, actor Emma corrin is photographed by Lengua in a series of stunning images.
The newest collection features four distinct items. The first is Upcycled leather, which made its first appearance in 2022. Now, the pieces team up with vintage biker jackets and signature shorts and miniskirts. Each jacket is expertly deconstructed and refashioned, lined in satin with quilting bodices, and finished with detachable soft shearling collar. Zippers are repositioned, hems are left raw and the Miu Miu logo is handcrafted on to the garments.
The second are the Upcycled kilts, from the Fifties to the Seventies. They feature a diverse range of tartans. Overprinted with black trompe l’oeil effects, or accented with hand-embroidered gradient mixes of facetted stones. Proportions have been reimagined – all kilts sit low on the hips, suspended from a newly applied leather yoke. Another in the collection, Upcycled yarn, is transformed to create cosy garments made of hand-knitted wool. The collection includes chunky crewneck’s hoodies, scarves and small accessories, all finished with a cotton crochet knit logo.
Finally, Upcycled embroidery showcases a sample of archival works applied to a base of black lace. Each piece in the collection carries its own story, but they all serve best when forming a cohesive look together.
For the collection, the House has partnered with Aura Blockchain Consortium, a non-profit association that promotes transparency as well as customer-centric business practices throughout the lifecycle of luxury products. In doing so, Miu Miu re-emphasises its commitment to the climate.
Upcycled 2024 is now available in select Miu Miu stores worldwide, as well as on the official Miu Miu website.
