PARISIAN SOPHISTICATION AND THEATRICS AT THE WEINSANTO SS25 RUNWAY
Victor Weinsanto reveals his Spring/Summer’25 collection at Paris Fashion Week, marking a return to the designer’s beginnings by emphasising joy and humour over strict aesthetic constraints. The show was held at Georges restaurant and the venue plays into the collection’s theme of “Cauchemar in the kitchen,” a nightmare in the kitchen, where everything goes awry and wrong.
The show was opened by Drag Race season 3 winner, Le Filip, who channels chef “Le Filip Etchebest” for their performance. On the other hand, actress Camille Lellouche and vedette Allanah Star portray chic clients at the restaurant, while Angèle Micaux further plays into this by acting as an exuberant director. Together, they give a theatrical performance and set the tone for the rest of the comedic runway.
The collection merges vibrant and joyful prints from Weinsanto’s early collections with a more modern Parisian sophistication. This season’s print draws inspiration from Art Nouveau and features shades of beige, pink, brown, black, and white, offering a diverse range of hues and colours. Other couture pieces that stand out are ginormous hats, champagne glass-shaped bags, and upside down Eiffel towers that act as umbrellas.
The ready-to-wear looks themselves combine both boyishness with sexy styles. Art Nouveau-inspired embroidery enhances the pants, tops, and dresses, while mini-dresses are adorned with jewellery and oversized pants. The Parisian woman is chic, free and daring, and Weinsanto succesfully evokes this essence while balancing the act between boldness and classic allure.
As this marks the fourth anniversary of the brand, the SS25 collection illustrates a clear evolution from the beginning while staying close to its original inspiration. Flirting with playfulness and drama, Weinsanto’s runway adds a unique touch to Paris Fashion Week.
