Whether you are passionate about fashion or a devoted follower of pop culture, we have rounded up all the highlights from this week that are not to be missed. From the much-anticipated reveal of the 2025 Met Gala theme to Kim Jones’ departure from Fendi, the buzz this week is all about style and celebration.
THE 2025 MET GALA THEME IS HERE
The countdown to the Met Gala has officially begun, with May 2025 already on everyone’s radar. Celebrities are eagerly checking their mailboxes, anticipating their coveted invitations from the legendary Anna Wintour.
Titled Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, the theme draws from Monica L. Miller’s book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, celebrating Black Dandyism and its influence on fashion. For the first time, all the co-chairs are Black men, with Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams joining Anna Wintour, and LeBron James as honorary chair.
We are eager to see how the guests will honor this important theme and can’t wait for the style statements that will define the night.
KIM JONES LEAVES FENDI
Rumours had it, and we definitely saw this coming…After four transformative years at the helm of Fendi’s womenswear, Kim Jones is officially parting ways with the iconic fashion house. Succeeding Karl Lagerfeld was no small feat, but Jones masterfully infused his modern vision into Fendi’s storied heritage, creating an unforgettable era for the brand. From groundbreaking collaborations—like the unforgettable "Fendace" with Versace—to his close creative bond with Silvia Venturini Fendi and her daughter Delfina, Fendi’s jewelry creative director, Jones’ legacy is cemented in the house’s history. As he steps into a new chapter, one thing is certain—we’ll be watching his next move with anticipation.
BOTTEGA VENETA UNVEILS NEW CAMPAIGN STARRING JACOB ELORDI
Your Instagram feed is likely still full with photos of Jacob Elordi effortlessly styling his BOTTEGA VENETA tote, a testament to the fact that he is still the moment. So, it came as no surprise when BOTTEGA VENETA released their latest campaign featuring the actor, who has been the brand’s ambassador since 2022. Captured by photographer Alec Soth, the ‘Going Places’ campaign is a celebration of movement and exploration. Against the stunning natural backdrops of Utah and Nevada, Elordi strikes dynamic, balletic poses that seamlessly blend with the desert’s sleek architecture. The spotlight is on BOTTEGA VENETA’s new travel accessories, with a strong focus on the brand’s signature leather. The reedition of the ‘Andiamo’ bag (which means ‘Let’s go’ in italian), in particular, steals the scene.
“BOTTEGA VENETA is in essence pragmatic because it is a leather goods company. Because it specialises in bags, it is about movement, going somewhere; there is fundamentally an idea of craft in motion”, commented Creative Director Matthieu Blazy. And rest assured, Matthieu—we’d follow you anywhere.
DIESEL AND SAVAGE X FENTY COLLABORATE ON A NEW CAPSULE COLLECTION
When two iconic brands like Diesel and SAVAGE X FENTY collaborate on a new capsule collection, you can only expect the best out of it - and this was definitely the case.
Rooted in the shared values of inclusivity and unapologetic self-love, the campaign draws inspiration from the visionary style of Rihanna herself. Diesel’s signature aesthetic has been beautifully reimagined through SAVAGE X FENTY’s lingerie lens, preserving the foundational principles of "True Diesel, Denim, and Utility." The result? A limited-edition lingerie and apparel collection that has quickly climbed to the top of everyone’s wish list.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Tuscany, Italy, and captured by photographer Salvatore Matarazzo and videographer Jacopo Farina, the campaign features a diverse cast of real Italian characters in Versilia, celebrating the vibrant spirit of Italian beaches in all their chaotic beauty. Once again, Glenn and Rihanna send a powerful message: you can be whoever you want to be, embracing the intricate tapestry of your individuality and diversity.
BALMAIN HAIR CELEBRATES ITS 50TH ANNIVERSARY IN PARIS
If you missed Balmain Hair’s glamorous celebration of its 50th anniversary during Paris Fashion Week, we’re here to take you back to this unforgettable event. Hosted at the elegant Lapérouse, model Alton Mason and photographer Sebastian Faena led the festivities, honoring the rich heritage of Balmain Hair. The event brought us back to the brand’s very beginning, when visionary designer Pierre Balmain collaborated with wig maker Dick Guliker to create something extraordinary. Coincidentally, the new collection is named after the very year it all began—1974.
The room was filled by stars, including Francisco Lachowski, Kate Walsh, Sofia Resing, and Zarina Yeva, all celebrating this remarkable milestone. As guests savored Clase Azul Tequila Gold and a selection of exquisite cocktails, the atmosphere was electric, making it a night too difficult to forget. The event was not just a celebration of hair but a tribute to the artistry and innovation that Balmain Hair has brought to the world over the past five decades.
WHO IS GUCCI’S NEW CEO?
In the ever-evolving landscape of fashion, where creative directors seem to move from one brand to another like pieces on a chessboard, we need to take a minute (or two) to delve into Gucci's announcement of a new CEO. Beginning January 1, Stefano Cantino will succeed former CEO Jean-François Palus. With an impressive background in the luxury sector, Cantino’s expertise is truly exceptional, having previously held significant roles at both Prada and Louis Vuitton, which have set the stage for his next chapter.
At Prada, Cantino worked closely with Patrizio Bertelli, focusing on communication, merchandising, and strategy, which played a pivotal role in the brand’s global expansion and its initial public offering. In 2018, he transitioned to Louis Vuitton as Senior Vice President of Communication, where he managed brand image, communication, and global events.
As he embarks on this significant journey with Gucci, we extend our best wishes to Stefano. We are confident he will make a remarkable impact on the fashion industry in this new role.
ROBERT PATTINSON STARS IN NEW DIOR ICON CAPSULES CAMPAIGN
Dior’s masculine identity is once again reimagined by creative director Kim Jones in the latest Icon Capsules campaign, with Robert Pattinson making a seamless return to the iconic fashion house. The collection showcases an exquisite interplay of grays—Dior’s signature colour—featuring wide-leg trousers, long structured coats, cashmere knits, and Harrington jackets. Photographer Alasdair McLellan perfectly captures the brand’s boldness and savoir-faire, blending sophistication with simplicity through distinctive cuts. And let’s take a moment for the bags: crafted from premium leather, the iconic Dior Oblique motif shines on a messenger bag, a tote, and a weekender.
Luckily for you, our article dives deeper into this remarkable collection.
