DIOR RELEASES A NEW DOCUMENTARY “DIOR IN SCOTLAND”

With the latest announcement of Dior’s resort show in Rome, the brand’s journey continues, but this week, they are taking us through the Scottish Highlands with the release of Dior in Scotland. This visually captivating documentary offers an intimate look into the making of Dior’s 2025 Cruise collection, set in the breathtakingly landscaped gardens of Drummond Castle. The collection takes on a fantastical, almost magical energy, drawing inspiration from the surrounding landscape, which remains steeped in mythology. Yet, rather than focusing on fairies and folklore, the film highlights the treasured lore passed down through generations in the form of traditional textiles. Dior in Scotland feels like an intimate look into the heart of Dior’s creative process, where fashion, culture, and nature beautifully collide. The viewer is transported into the magic of Dior’s world, where craftsmanship and Italian savoir-faire harmoniously coexist with the surrounding nature, capturing the essence of the brand’s legacy and the untamed spirit of Scotland.

CHANEL PRESENTS  MÉTIERS D'ART 2024/25 COLLECTION

If Dior is taking us on a trip to Scotland, Chanel is transporting us to China with its Métiers d'Art 2024/25 collection. The iconic French maison delves into the rich cultural heritage of China, bringing its unparalleled craftsmanship and artistry to life through a breathtaking collection. From stunning silk brocades to elaborate beadwork, each piece tells a story of traditional Chinese art and symbolism, expertly woven into the modern Chanel aesthetic. The setting, an evocative fusion of Parisian and Chinese design, mirrors the intricate balance between tradition and innovation that defines the collection. Set in Hangzhou, the show also featured a special film by Chanel ambassador Tilda Swinton and director Wim Wenders, inspired by Gabrielle Chanel’s love for Chinese lacquer screens.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE 2024 FASHION AWARDS

The 2024 Fashion Awards have come and gone, leaving behind a trail of unforgettable moments, filled with unexpected surprises, and a palpable sense of excitement.
Law Roach kicked off the night with a powerful video speech highlighting key fashion milestones, from Alessandro Michele’s debut at Valentino to John Galliano’s Margiela couture and Dries Van Noten’s final runway walk. Designer of the Year nominees highlighted the global impact of visionaries, including Chemena Kamali, John Galliano, Jonathan Anderson, Miuccia Prada, Pieter Mulier, and Rick Owens. But the evening’s emotional peak arrived with Tom Ford’s tribute, introduced by Anna Wintour in a speech that took the audience on a trip to memory lane through his legacy. Her tribute was capped by a favorite Ford quote: “Never run after a man or a bus, as within five minutes another one will always turn up.”  The red carpet dazzled with star power, as Rihanna and A$AP Rocky stole the spotlight. Rocky, introduced by Michèle Lamy in a striking Rick Owens look, was honored as a cultural innovator. It’s hard not to mention Blumarine’s debut under David Koma, with stars including Ashley Graham, Victoria De Angelis, and Alice Pagani showcasing custom designs ahead of Koma’s first full collection for Pre-Fall 2025. In a historic moment, Alex Consani became the first trans woman to win Model of the Year, her Dilara Findikoglu Union Jack dress perfectly embodying the industry’s growing embrace of diversity.

NIKE COLLABORATES WITH MAKE-UP ARTIST ISAMAYA FFRENCH

For those who think Isamaya Ffrench is just a makeup artist, think again. Nike has teamed up with the British beauty mogul for a groundbreaking collaboration that blends the worlds of sports and beauty. The result? A reimagined version of the Air Max DN, originally launched earlier this year on Air Max Day. Ffrench, known for her bold and avant-garde approach to design, has given the Air Max DN a full makeover. Much like a flawless makeup look, these sneakers feature a glossy acrylic finish on the mudguard and heel, complemented by metallic details underneath, while the rest of the shoe maintains a matte texture, creating a striking contrast. The inspiration behind this collaboration is even more commendable—it’s about women empowerment in the sports industry. Ffrench believes athletes can be strong and successful while expressing themselves freely and maintaining their individuality. The Isamaya Ffrench x Nike Air Max DN pack will be available on December 20, 2024, at Nike and select retailers.
