STUDIO PIET BOON UNFOLDS NEW FURNITURE AT SALONE DEL MOBILE
words by NATALIE GAL
At the 2025 edition of Salone del Mobile, Studio Piet Boon presents Unfold—an invitation to explore new perspectives in furniture design. Like the gradual reveal of a story, each layer of the studio’s presentation builds upon the next, showcasing the depth of its craftsmanship, the nuance of materiality, and the harmony of proportion and form.
Design revealed, layer by layer With Unfold, visitors are immersed in an experience that highlights the studio’s latest furniture collections. Sculptural silhouettes and refined detailing come together in pieces that reveal their beauty over time—through texture, rhythm, and interaction. As spatial needs evolve, so too does the role of each piece, balancing aesthetics, functionality, and comfort.
Studio Piet Boon was founded in 1983 by Karin Meyn and Piet Boon in Oostzaan, The Netherlands. The Studio is now a globally operating, award winning, design specialist focusing on exteriors, interiors, and product design.
This year, the Studio introduces three new furniture series: KATE, TOMI, and HUGO— each a contemporary signature of the studio’s evolving design language. From modular lounge systems and sculptural dining pieces to compact seating solutions and versatile outdoor designs, the collections reflect a timeless, adaptive approach to living.
Complementing the furniture presentation is a curated selection of artworks by six artists: Cecil Kemperink’s ceramic sculptures in motion; Ilija Wyller’s layered paintings that merge landscape and abstraction; Camille Rousseau’s rhythmic explorations in line and form; Yani’s poetic photography with colored pencil; Julie Haverkamp’s tactile mixed-media compositions; and Lætitia Jacquetton’s mouth-blown glass sculptures shaped around natural rock forms. Each work deepens the layered narrative of Unfold, echoing themes of materiality, emotion, and transformation.
