UNSEEN PHOTO FAIR SHOWCASES GLOBAL SPECTRUM OF PHOTOGRAPHY IN ITS LATEST EDITION
Unseen Photo Fair, the international art fair dedicated to the latest developments in contemporary photography, is back for its 12th edition, which will take place from September 20th to September 22nd. The event will be held at the historic Westergas site in Amsterdam. Around 70 galleries and 65 independent publishers will present their latest unseen works as well as the latest developments in contemporary photography. Additionally, there will be an exhibition featuring large-scale presentations, focused on exploring the ever-shifting boundaries of the photographic universe.

Among new exhibitors are Open Doors from London, who have been approaching photography from a curatorial perspective, and MotorMond from Amsterdam, which focusses on circulating Pan Diaspora Cultures. Returning participant Homecoming Gallery, which will open its first permanent gallery space in Amsterdam this summer, will bring a solo presentation by rising star Mia Wiener, recent recipient of the V&A Parasol Prize from the Victoria & Albert Museum and Parasol Foundation.
Since day one, Unseen has maintained close ties with the museum world. Many curators and conservators visit Unseen annually to gain inspiration, scout photographers, or acquire work for their permanent collections. Unseen Photo Fair 2024 features several presentations by photographers who are also represented in museum exhibitions elsewhere. For example, Stevenson Gallery returns to the fair with a solo presentation of Viviane Sassen. At the same time, Sassen has a major retrospective at Foam.

Additionally, this year, around 65 independent publishers specialising in photography publications will participate in Unseen's Book Market. Like the participating galleries, these publishers come from all over the world. As in previous years, a careful selection process ensures a balanced mix of experienced, renowned publishers and newcomers who contribute to innovation and renewal.
