DIOR FALL COLLECTION 2025
words by NATALIE GAL
For the Dior Fall 2025 Collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri explores the intersection of two fashion cultures, embracing softness, structure, and the quiet power of cultural harmony.
For the autumn-winter collection of 1957 Monsieur Dior created the Diorpaletot and Diorcoat, inspired by the kimono, a traditional Japanese garment. The concept of two distinctive fashion cultures meeting and operating together appears in the current collection just as vividly. Since no matter the culture the centre of fashion has always been the body and the identity it surrounds, this complexity runs through the garments softly but expressively.
The garments are soft in their material and silhouette, incorporating the softness of silk. Reminiscing the serenity of a japanese garden, it’s natural, it is moving but stays structured and still with grace. Fashion meets architecture as the pieces are carefully coordinated and orchestrated such as a detailed palace.
Florals for fall? Yes, and with a twist! Also a metamorphic collection, the colour black an remains important, intertwining with floral patterns, all elevated by golden embroidery.
Culture and architecture meet the intimacy of the body and identity in a collection that is undoubtedly expressive, captivating and conscious of it’s message. Dior’s 2025 Fall Collection is fresh, and elegant with a spark of extravagant playfulness, taking the classic floral them into a new direction, one we cannot help but love.
