MOCHAKK UNVEILS DEBUT EP ‘FROM THE STARS’ VIA NINJA TUNE
Breakout DJ and producer Mochakk solidifies his place in the global electronic music scene with the release of his highly anticipated debut EP, ‘From The Stars’, via UK tastemaker label Ninja Tune. This two-track release seamlessly merges his signature Brazilian groove with UK club influences, marking both a defining moment in his meteoric rise and a testament to Ninja Tune’s legacy of fostering groundbreaking talent.
"For me, releasing on Ninja Tune is absolutely surreal," Mochakk shares. "It’s one of those ultimate stamp-of-approval moments. I’ve looked up to this label for years, and to now have my own music in their catalog feels unreal. I love that they chose two very different tracks for the EP—it really showcases my range."
The title track, “From The Stars”, layers ethereal female vocals over a reimagined sample of The Rah Band’s iconic “Messages From The Stars”, weaving disco-inflected house beats with a nostalgic-yet-modern energy. Meanwhile, “Maria”, already a fan favorite since its live debut at Mochakk’s Cercle set, delivers hypnotic synths, sultry vocals, and deep UK-inspired textures—an entrancing slow burn built for peak-time dance floors.
Born Pedro Maia, Mochakk has rapidly ascended as one of Brazil’s most electrifying electronic exports. His high-energy performances and innovative productions have captivated audiences worldwide, leading him to headline at Coachella, Time Warp, Primavera Sound, and Circoloco Ibiza. His self-curated Mochakk Calling event series has sold out venues across Miami, São Paulo, London, Lisbon, and New York, with an upcoming stop in Buenos Aires to mark the EP’s release.
Further cementing his influence, Mochakk recently played a sold-out, 5,000-capacity Cercle show at Seville’s Plaza de España, amassing nearly 4 million views. In the past year alone, he performed over 160 shows across 29 countries, became a DC-10 resident, and dropped the massive single “Jealous” on Circoloco Records. Most recently, he delivered a standout b2b set with Disclosure at Cercle Festival at France’s Air & Space Museum and landed on the cover of Numéro Magazine—a fitting reflection of his unstoppable trajectory.
