A DAY AT THE LAB WITH DEL CORE’S SS25 READY-TO-WEAR COLLECTION

As the first installment of Del Core’s ready-to-wear collection, creative director Daniel Del Core sets his eyes on purity and conciseness. Inspired by various women and their research within the natural world, Del Core aims to define a wardrobe, fostering architectural constructions, with fluidity and an idea of ease.

For this season, the woman that has inspired the collection is a scientist, and the collection follows her for ‘A Day at The Lab.’ She begins her morning in the sanctuary of her home. She is knowledgeable, intelligent, both emotionally and intellectually. She never leaves without her stack of essays, at least two books, and her favourite pen to take notes with under her cocooning trench coat. She is an admired lecturer, just as focused on her work as she is on the exactitude of her suits. After teaching, she puts on her long latex gloves and makes it to her true home: her laboratory.

Amidst the sound of machinery, she moves with precision in her translucent coat, her attire reflecting her connection to the world, and the textures of her dresses molecularly themed. Her shoes and bags get a protective cover, to be safe, and her wardrobe reflects the rest of her mysterious journey. She harmonises between elegance and science, between grace and calculation, and she remains open to all the possibilities of the world. Without couture pieces, the ready-to-wear collection allows any woman to step into the world of the scientist, to move with her for a day at the lab, and to aspire that same confident enigmatic lifestyle.

Del Core has put together a gracious collection that carefully digests the idea of an ambitious woman. The accessories, books, bags, and latex gloves, aid in painting the image of such women, and the garments themselves are perfectly fitting with this conjuration. Whether it is a cold day walking across the street in a trench coat, or a day besides chemicals and poison, the collection greatly displays all aspects of the scientist. 

In January, the next full-scale presentation of Del Core couture will be unveiled in Paris. This dual set up opens up wider room of expression, in which bursts of fantasy run parallel to a sense of pragmatism, in Daniel’s own personal way.
