MOËT & CHANDON AND PHARRELL WILLIAMS LAUNCH LIMITED EDITION COLLECTION
Moët & Chandon, the iconic French champagne house founded in 1743, announces its latest collaboration with Pharrell Williams—the American singer-songwriter with over 10 billion music streams, producer, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and Creative Director of Louis Vuitton menswear.
Today, the Moët & Chandon Pharrell Williams Limited Edition Collection is launching worldwide. This collection honors Moët & Chandon’s longstanding birthday tradition, which has been celebrated since 1965. Driven by shared values of togetherness, optimism, and human connection, the iconic champagne house partners with Pharrell to redefine the birthday experience through the perspective of those who celebrate it with you. The collaboration is centered on a mutual vision of collective joy, aiming to create celebratory moments that are both universal and deeply personal—where every detail is designed to honor those who come together.
Every day, 22 million people around the world celebrate their birthdays—a ritual filled with joy and gratitude, especially for those who make the occasion unforgettable. Whether or not you enjoy celebrating your own birthday, one thing unites us all: we love to highlight the people we care about. It’s not about the gift, but about who gives it. It’s not about the party, but about who shows up. And it’s not about the bottle, but about who you share it with.
"The most beautiful thing about birthdays is the people who want to celebrate with you," says Pharrell. "When I was old enough to toast with champagne for the first time, Moët & Chandon was my reference point. It’s simply a tradition, a ritual."
For generations, Moët & Chandon has been the champagne of choice for birthday toasts. It has also been uncorked in celebrations of royalty and cultural icons across music, sports, and film. The legendary actor Paul Newman celebrated his 40th birthday in 1965 with Moët & Chandon. In 2014, actress Scarlett Johansson toasted to her 30th birthday alongside her twin brother Hunter. Former tennis star Roger Federer also regularly celebrates his birthday at home with family and friends, with Moët & Chandon at the table. And that’s just the beginning…
To create a distinctive and unique design for every birthday celebration, Pharrell Williams and Moët & Chandon explored the archives of the champagne house. During their research, they discovered that the iconic ribbon on the bottle, introduced in 1892, was originally a bow tie. Symbolizing togetherness, generosity, joy, and surprise, this bow tie has become one of the key elements of the new Limited Edition collection.
