THE HOUSE REVEALS GUCCI | BAMBOO ENCOUNTERS FOR FUORISALONE 2025 IN MILAN
Gucci | Bamboo Encounters is an exhibition founded by Ippolito Pestellini Laparelli, curated and designed by 2050+. The exhibition is set against Milan’s 16th-century Chiostri di San Simpliciano during Fuorisalone 2025, and it celebrates Gucci’s legacy of bamboo in their design history, with a series of contributions by contemporary designers and artists invited to reimagine the material.
Gucci’s use of bamboo dates in the mid 1940s, notably with the Gucci Bamboo 1947. In the following decades, bamboo became one of the House’s most celebrated codes, adopting many meanings to inspire the intertwined dimensions of art, culture, and design. The Gucci | Bamboo Encounters builds upon the House’s rich heritage, exploring the lasting impact of bamboo and how it continues to bridge past and present.
